about

sleeve-art: the image above is for itunes & the like.
in the "extras" section hereabouts, you can find a version for those nice polythene sleeve things we've been using for our CD-R releases, & also an insert & tray liner set for jewel boxes. they should come out the right size... they're 300dpi if it helps.

time flies when you're having fun. exactly twenty years ago in london, radio massacre international (as we know it today) began in earnest. we had previously recorded under the guise of DAS, but this session marked the first time we had the facility, inclination and time to start working on the band with a view to being heard in the outside world eventually...

steve had spent the last five years having a whale of a time drumming in indie bands, but had had enough of the slog of getting nowhere slowly.

at the same time, duncan had been honing his skills and building a collection of keyboards, and his flatmate had moved out, which meant he now had the space to create a studio large enough for more than just him and a cup of tea.

so it was that on saturday october 2nd 1993, northern echo was fired up in earnest for the first time.

"Forgot any plans to go to Covent Garden [to see Pram at the Rough Trade Shop], and instead started grooving. Mellotron, Sequencers...ah yes ! ......got to get to grips with this stuff, the potential is enormous" says steve's diary.

these pieces have previously appeared in significantly edited form on the `Lost In Space' boxed set. here for the first time in 20 years are the full versions.

this one's on us ! raise a glass to 20 years of RMI.
