Newly installed at the Zetland Church Hall, AoB stretch out with a new intro to Riff One dedicated to Christian Boule and not Patti Boulaye.

a few days after this rehearsal, fearing that the growing rift between founding drummer mark spybey & rockist guitarist jon davis spelt the end of the adventure, we decided to polish some of the rehearsal recordings into a souvenir for ourselves. mark had an ability to play at a tempo that matched the tape-echo perfectly, which was handy as we didn't have varispeed back then. so here are some more bits from that night, forty years ago as we write this, processed back at the original (marske-by-the-sea) northern echo &, in amongst, a couple of electronic experiments that were on the same carefully preserved lump of 1/4" tape. enjoy.

honestly this album takes quite a bit of time and many listening rounds to actually "get into". No doubt it is technically excellent, with more advanced composition elements than earlier records, however it isn't that easily accessible either. Perhaps this is actually a strength as each time you will listen to there will be more details to discover. Martin R
