My second solo album followed quite soon after the first and was a collection consisting of four upbeat pieces and a 30 minute suite dedicated to my new love.

`Egyptian Reggae' bore no resemblance to the Jonathan Richman tune we all know and love, `Can Do' is my Can tribute. Getting a sequencer to play the Drums seemed like an appropriate nod to Jaki Liebezeit and the keyboard tones certainly owe a lot to Irmin Schmidt. `Pandora' was inspired by something that will remain a secret. `Consequences' is a title plucked out of the air as they often are. I'm particularly proud of the keyboard run in the middle somewhere which was played as my daughter tugged on my arm to try and drag me into her world and stop playing silly keyboards !

The `On The Other Side' pieces are dedicated to Kathy and new love. We've been happily married for 11 years now. How quickly it goes.

The melting ice on my windscreen one morning seemed to form itself into a vague but recognisable approximation of a map of North America and Europe moving towards each other. She came from the USA to join me in Europe. It was one of those deeply significant moments which happen sometimes, and it still amazes me to this day.
